Time to plan for Walk Kansas 2012
I hope you are interested in being a part of Walk Kansas 2012.  We are getting organized for this annual eight week fitness challenge.  It is scheduled to start March 18 and run through May 12.

We are looking for teams of six to take on the challenge of walking for 150 minutes each week which equals 423 miles the distance across Kansas, or if that doesn't seem far enough, fitness enthusiasts can sign up to walk 1200 miles in the eight weeks which is the same distance as around the state's perimeter.

While the focus is on walking because it can be easy, convenient and only requires a comfortable pair of shoes, the program has grown to include comparable heart-healthy aerobic exercise like biking, swimming, water aerobics, and dance for example.

The benefits for you might be improved energy, more restful sleep, stress management, lower blood pressure and cholesterol and weight loss.
